Back to the Business of Jazz

Please excuse the fact that I have not made an entry in a few days life got kinda hectic. But as the title suggests "Back to the business of Jazz" a few weeks ago an online music marketing service Ariel's sent me a sample of "The David Zoffer Differential" there song "Safety Prayer." This song can be described as Jazzy with an R&B feel. This project is titled "Release" with a social relevance that is reminiscent of the music we heard back in the 80's. There sound is is a mixture of Steely Dan, and the Doobie Brothers when Micheal McDonald was with them thus once again creating a social relevance that is unique and missing in todays music. This can be defined as jazz but it would not do this CD any justice to attach a definition to it. Why you may ask? Well with in this world to many times we have to compartmentalize things for our own comfort and stability or because the industry we exist in requires it. At times I believe this limits the artists potential and creative process not to mention the artists potential fan base. This CD is a perfect example of the case I'm making above "Release" is just good music from "The David Zoffer Differential"

Thank you
